Minors Division

Minors Division: League Ages 9 - 10
Use the Little League Age Calculator to determine League Age. Select Little League Baseball as the Sport and enter Birth Year and Birth Month of the Player.

Minor Players must participate in a Try Out (mid/late March) and be drafted to a team.

League Age 10-year-olds may try out for the Majors Division by selecting the appropriate checkbox during registration (they will formally register for the Minors Division). If drafted to a Majors team, the player will be Transferred to Majors. If not drafted to a Majors team, the player will be placed on a Minors team.

Schedule:

Season starts mid April and ends in early June
Practice: There will be practice opportunity(s) before games start, but once the season starts there is typically not practice. The Practice Schedule is up to the Coach.
Games: Games are 2 times per week on Mondays and Wednesday (this can sometimes change). Games start at 6:00 PM and no new inning is started after 7:45 PM (current inning will finish).
Missoula City Tournament: End of season tournament based on regular season seeding
All Stars: Players are eligible to try out for the 10u All Star team at the end of the season.

What to Expect:

Moderately competitive with some rule modifications.
Introduces players to pitching; 100% player pitch.
Players should hit, throw, and catch proficiently.
More specialized defensive positioning.
Skills: Consistent throwing/catching, frequent outfield hits.
Stealing allowed with some restrictions.
Umpire/coach calls balls/strikes; large strike zone to encourage hitting.
Emphasis on good sportsmanship and respect for all.
Scores/standings kept for seeding in Missoula City Tournament
Required: Mitt, cleats, baseball pants, athletic cup.
Helmets, bats, and catcher’s gear available; personal bats must meet USA Baseball (USABat) standards.
